It’s the middle of the night and you sit, scrunched down, in your most comfortable chair watching one of those old movies you love. The film might be in black & white but, in your mind, the world around you has become full of surreal colour and characters.
This is the Creature from the Black Lagoon↑. It’s a love story, both for the Creature and for us.

The artist, Livio Korobase↑, you’ll remember him from Musiclandia↑, sent me a message one day that he realized, with surprise, he’d gone “psychedelic”. There are certainly aspects which will be familiar to anybody who attended one of “those” parties in the 60s, however you’ll also see a floor buffer cleaning the ocean and find chairs in a giant pipe.

This is an homage to those B movies that, for many of us, are a guilty pleasure. It’s also an imagining of the world around you as you indulge.
In addition, you get a chance to see a side of the characters not shown in the script. (Who knew the Creature had a romantic streak?)

Livio tells us it’s a work-in-progress, however you can still set your environment to region default and enjoy discovering all the tiny details. Revisit posters, characters, and props from your favourite trashy horror classics, all in a world those movie makers would have loved.
Finally, climb the ladder into the oddly textured cinema – because that’s what it is and, if you enable streaming media, you can watch a series of films without any guilt. At least until somebody tells you that it’s really time to go to bed. :)

/ February 15, 2014Now you can find other references inside the house on tree, I can tell you a secret: Creature think to love Julie Adams, but in the most sexy scene of movie is Ginger Stanley, not Julie, swimming! Ok, maybe for Creature is the same :)
ps: now you can sit on floor buffer cleaning and go around listening a well know song…
