Taking a Porcelain Trip in Second Life

Aldous Huxley (general)

I took a little trip this morning. Although I visit various locations on an almost daily basis, this time the words have a pun embedded in them.

Aldous Huxley (general)

If you’re an old hippie then the name of the sim, Aldous Huxley, brings back only one kind of memories. The man himself should be known for many things; teacher (bad), intellectual (great), writer (Brave New World ring a bell?), editor, spiritualist, etc., etc., etc.

Back in the 60s, reading BNW was a mandatory rite of passage. Once you had though, the primary reason for discussions about Huxley revolved around his experiments with psychedelic pharmaceuticals.

I have NO idea what’s going on here. I can make a few guesses – it talks about Project PossUM (Possibilities Unlimited Museum) – but I can say that finding myself on a giant floating plate, in a landscape of blue & white porcelain, is like something out of a Huxley dream.  The rest of my day should be interesting.
