There are at least two openings this weekend I wanted to share and I was debating the order. As it turned out, I could only access one so the decision was made for me.
I’m a devotee of a number of artists in Second Life – quite a large number. One of my consistent favourites is Romy Nayar↑. Last year at this time she brought us Tim’s Dreams↑ – today she launches another amazing build which fits into the halloween season, with a twist.

Overto Omonto↑ is dark and mysterious and gorgeous. In fact it’s so beautifully dark I admit to spending time with Advanced Tone Mapping in Gimp just so you could see some of the details. Everything is much clearer in person than it is in a photo.
There are many aspects of what I expect from Romy’s work in this installation; atmosphere, a great backstory, a vehicle to use if you don’t want to spend time walking around, and fabulous characters.

There’s so much I’m not showing you from Overto Omonto↑, but the population is not only exquisitely quirky they’re also in trouble, and I thought I’d share their charm. They need you to play, and win, a word game to open a magic door and save them. My schedule precluded heroic measures, so it’s up to you.

I’ll be going back frequently to this town. You know the location where it’s situated – Per4mance Metales↑ recently hosted Cica Ghost’s Ghostville↑ and this is another in a long line of winners for that space.
I plan to block out enough time to make my own attempts at a rescue, but I expect you’ll do the right thing in the meantime. :)
Note to Linden Lab: I don’t assume malicious intent on your part, simply incomprehensible incompetence. Fix the problem with the ToS changes and the rights of artists, authors, poets, builders, etc., to their work. I don’t want to lose these talented people, the ones who make the world what it is.
