A Second Life Work in Progress

Resonant Osmosis @ LEA 26 (moderate)

I’ve been sneaking in to LEA26↑ for the past few weeks, watching the progress of the installation Johnas Merlin↑ is creating. I got lucky this morning, the artist was there and agreed to let me share these images with you – note, however, that he is telling people to return in June when he’ll be finished.

Even “under construction” this is a fun build to visit. The static images don’t show you the movement and can’t fully reflect the quirkiness of this exhibit. I won’t show you what happens when you touch this guy’s head, but I will tell you that the “forest” grows as you watch.

Things move and, in some places, seem to focus on you and enclose you. It’s a wonderful flight of fantasy and very special. It is also an appropriate destination for me today.

I’ve hit one of those round number milestones in age. I don’t know why we mark our journey with counting – do we get to level up?

This is the day I have finally reached middle age. Much like Resonant Osmosis↑, though, I’m still a work in progress. :)

  1. Happy birthday! Middle age – what does that make you, 35? It’s all depends on how long you expect to live! :)
