Fuschia & Phobia & New LEA Art Grants in Second Life

One of the many traumas of my adult life involved the colour pink. I can’t go into details, but you won’t find me wandering in a Barbie aisle at a big toy store ever again in this lifetime. I still have nightmares and flashbacks. shudder

Fuschia Nightfire↑ obviously doesn’t have this problem.  The good news for me is that her work is so intriguing I can focus on the content and artistry, and ignore the voices in my head screaming “Escape! Now, while you can! Before they get you!” .

Fuschia’s Fantasy Land↑ is the current installation of the new series on LEA6, monthly exhibits↑ curated by Jayjay Zifanwe↑ of the University of Western Australia↑.

This is a new edition of Fuschia’s experiments with transparency and you get your own “outline avatar” to use. You become a fairy and then set out to explore this fantasy landscape.

The big news from LEA↑ today is that the next round of Artist in Residence Grants have been announced. I’m really looking forward to seeing what they bring us. There are a lot of new names and I expect to go slightly crazy trying to explore all 20 installations once they start opening.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, this fairy is going to attempt some immersion therapy to deal with her debilitating phobia.

Then I guess you’re no Pink Panther fan, eh? :P

And don’t worry, we all have phobias – someone else actually is afraid of porcelain (you can look him up).
