Retreating to Second Life

Spiritual Retreat (general)

I know I get cranky sometimes (and yes, I’m stating the obvious), but I don’t enjoy it.

Rather than taking it out on others, even those I might think deserve it, I try and soothe the jagged edges of my temper by immersing myself in more placid thoughts.

Going inworld often helps, but to get there I have to deal with technology. For the benefit and education of those hardware gnomes out there, some things are supposed to be magic. Plumbing, electricity, and computers (damn it!) fall into that category.

If it’s magic then it doesn’t require my participation to make it work. You don’t want to know what I’m muttering as I crawl around in an obstacle course of wires and cables under my desk.

I scared myself this morning. Having arrived at a destination designed solely to help me achieve calm and peace, I had a truly cynical thought.

I won’t tell you what it was because I’m ashamed. I also won’t tell you what it was because my evil twin points out it could be very lucrative.

Apparently I require more than one dose of meditation. :)
